How not to do 3D

At the recent Telluride Film Festivle, director Wim Wenders showed his latest short film. The film involves intracite dances being performed at live settings. He also shot it in 3D.

Wenders gave a keynote at the gathering as well, defending his choice about shooting in 3D. He insisted that because we live in a 3D world (which we don’t), that all movies should be shot in 3D. He continued to talk about the troubles of capturing at 24fps and the sucess he had in capturing in 48fps. He also voiced his displeasure with how current projectors dont support 48fps. Overall his film failed with shots being constantly disrupted by objects breaking the foreground and 3D glasses that left people annoyed and bored with the film. While 3D technology is still being explored, this film can help show other directors how NOT to do movies in 3D.
